Philanthropy is quite literally “the heart” of Alpha Phi. Since 1956, Alpha Phi’s philanthropic efforts have focused heavily on raising awareness and support for women’s heart health. As heart disease is the #1 killer of women in America, we are extremely passionate about this cause.

The money we raise through our two philanthropy events, Red Dress Gala and Mac'N'Phis, goes directly to the Alpha Phi Foundation. This money provides grants to benefit women’s heart health as well as scholarship, leadership and educational programs to Alpha Phi members.

We also recently began the tradition of our annual 5k to raise money for the Open My Heart foundation and recognize and begin eliminating the disparities of heart health among Black women and women of color.

The Zeta Gamma chapter has made significant contributions to the Alpha Phi Foundation and women’s heart health since our founding. Most recently, our chapter was recognized as not only the Top Donating Chapter in the Western Quadrant, but also as the Top Donating Chapter in all of Alpha Phi.
